OBITUARY -- Michael Raymond Mays
Michael Raymond Mays, 66, of 1717 3rd Ave. S., a retired U.S. Navy and Air Force veteran, died of natural causes June 11 at Peace Hospice.
The family will greet friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at O'Connor Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Ligaya Mays of Great Falls; daughters Patricia A. (Ted) Mays-Suko and Ida (Rolf) Wilson, all of Bozeman, Mont.; his mother, Mamie Mays of Leola, Ark.; nephew Mark Gillespie of Leola, a great-nephew, Grant Gillespie; and one grandchild on the way.
Michael was born Jan. 17, 1940, in Rolla, Ark., and raised in Lono, Ark. He graduated from the University of Great Falls in 1996 with a degree in computer science.
Michael served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1969, with five tours in Vietnam, and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1972 until 1990. He retired from Malmstrom AFB in 1990.
He enjoyed fishing, camping and boating, and volunteered for the AARP doing taxes. Condolences may be sent online to greatfallstribune.com/obituaries.
