OBITUARY
Phillip Lee "Fig" Newton, age 45, of Malvern passed away Feb. 7, 2008, in Plant City, Fla. He was born July 31, 1962, in Houston, Texas, the son of the late Chester Arthur and Jessie Inez (Stiles) Newton. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a truck driver for J.B. Hunt and a member of Leola Missionary Baptist Church. Phillip loved to hunt and fish and go camping.
Survivors are his fiancée, Tina Renee Edwards of Malvern; son, Wesley Newton of California; brother, Jesse Newton of Malvern; sisters, Barbara Armstrong and husband, Don of Magnolia, Texas, Doris Dimler and husband, Lant of Auburn, Ga., and Mary Francis Henry of Malvern; step-son, Will Smith of Willow; step-granddaughter, Brylie Kaye Tims of Malvern; aunt, Chloe Davis of Malvern; nieces, Courtney and Karen Dimler of Auburn, Ga., Sarah Lee Newton of Minnesota and Samantha Finney of Benton and nephews Ryan Newton of Minnesota and Walker Finney of Benton. Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 13 from 9 a.m. until noon at Regency Funeral Home in Malvern.
Graveside will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13 at Lono Cemetery with Reverend Tony Burrow officiating. Interment will follow at Lono Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Scott Walters, J.R. Otts, Loyd Fitzhugh, Bo Finley, Mark Baldwin and Blake Riggan.
The family will be at 2605 Canine Dr., Apt. 13 in Malvern.
