March 8, 1993 funeral service with interment following was at Fort Richardson National Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Military service with Chaplain Herndon of the Fort Richardson National Cemetery officiating.
Jack was a member of the Catholic Church as was his mother Mary Lou. When dating at West Virginia University, Jack and Joyce would first attend Mass and then the Lutheran Student Center service. Jack eventually joined the Lutheran Church. Both let membership lapse when they moved from Newark, DE to Anchorage, AK.

Headlines: Sentinel Carrier Working for Trip to Brazil:
The Sentinel carrier shown above has a motto at present of " On to Brazil" - which by the way is a contest going on for the carrier of The Parkersburg Sentinel and News - for a 10 day all - expense paid trip. The carrier is Jack Brownfield son of Mr and Mrs. E. W. Brownfield of 400 40th St. , Vienna. He is shown selling James Moore one of the 34 new customers which he had gotten since the contest began. Marvin Dowler, Jack's district manager, says that although Jack has a large route he is not satisfied with just carrying The Sentinel to his customers. He likes to sell and says, " It is easy when the people find out what you are working for." There is just two more weeks in the contest, and Jack is hoping to get at least 14 more new customers. He says he can feel himself sitting in that big jet plane on his way to Brazil right now.
