OBITUARY
GARMAN - Bruce, 77, Fifth Street, Colver, died May 1, 2002, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Oct. 16, 1924, in Johnstown, son of the late Ralph and Ruth (Powelly) Garman. Preceded in death by sister, Lucille, and great-grandson, Aaron Christian Bonyai. Survived by wife, the former Frances Weaver, to whom he was married 58 years; and daughters, Pamela, wife of Edwin Buterbaugh, Canada; and Karen Garman, Ebensburg; also grandchildren: Alan (Marlene) Buterbaugh, Diane (Scott) Mertz, Tracy (Chris) Bonyai, Sean McKotch and his fiancee, Shannon James; and Courtney McKotch; and great-grandchildren: P.J., Mark, Jessica, Rachel, Alex, Eric, Matthew, Andrew and Sarah. Member of Ebensburg United Church of Christ (Congregational). Bruce was a retired registered professional mechanical engineer. A World War II Army Air Force veteran, serving as a navigator on B-24s stationed in England. The recipient of the Air Medal and three oak-leaf clusters. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Ebensburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Billy Plummer officiating. Entombment at Richland Mausoleum, Richland Township.
