OBITUARY
Jerry Don Lee (Hartville)
Jerry was one of three children born to Curtis Lee and Dorothy Hart Lee. Jerry spent his youth in west Texas and finally settled in Artesia, New Mexico where he spent his school years. Jerry worked with his dad at their service station doing whatever needed to be done while he was in school.
Once out of school Jerry came to Missouri for Army basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood. Due to medical reasons Jerry was honorably discharged from the Army and went back to New Mexico. While back in New Mexico Jerry completed his education at the University of New Mexico and obtained a Bachelors degree in Business Administration.
Shortly after completing his education Jerry met Sheila Maudene Mosley whom he later married. In 1968 Jerry and Sheila moved to Hartville, Missouri where they put down roots and started farming. In 1976 they had a son Aaron Shane Lee. Jerry and Sheila spent their life farming and dabbling in other business ventures here in Hartville. They had many friends and neighbors and were very happy here in the community. In his last years Jerry enjoyed his time at the senior center, visiting with his friends at home, and attending church whenever he had the chance to go.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Sheilla , his mother Dorothy, his father Curtis, and his brother Tom. Jerry is survived by his son Aaron Shane Lee and wife Sabrina of Willow Springs, MO and their children Jackson and Peyton, and his sister Dianne Funston and husband Fred of Las Vegas, Nevada, as well as a host of other nieces and nephews.
One of Jerry's sayings was "try walking a mile in my shoes". For those of you that knew him well you understand what that meant. Jerry spent his life with an uphill struggle most of the way. He fought hard every day to do the right thing and never let life's struggles beat him no matter how hard things got. You have done your work here Jerry and now it's time to rest. Your labors are over. You are loved and will be missed by so many lives that you have touched. Let your life be an inspiration to us all.
Memorial contributions to the Wolfner Library for the blind, may be left at the funeral home.
