146 Petition for leave to convey lend, 5 May 1785, by MARGARET TRUITT wid & adminx of JOHN TRUITT, yeoman of Suss: LEVIN CRAPPER decd of Suss recovered judgement against BENJN TRUITT, yeoman of Suss, for 8O+ pounds; writ ofFeb 1774 to PETER ROBINSON sheriff to sell lands of TRUITT in Cedar Creek Hund, 100 ac, est of BENJN TRUITT, but there were no buyers; so another writ of 1784 issued & ROBINSON sold land to JOHN TRUITT s/o BENJN for 45 pounds; but JOHN TRUITT died intestate before deed issued leaving wid MARGARET & 4 children: only son GEORGE, ESTHER, SARAH & LEAH: 2/5 to GEO, remainder to 3 daus of JOHN, subject to widow's dower; MARGARET now petitions for deed to sell lend from new sheriff CORD HAZZARD.
