Levi purchased land on Four Mile Branch in Rowan County, North Carolina and in 1800 was on the Rowan County census. They then moved to Rutherford County, North Carolina. Next the family bought land in Buncombe County, North Carolina. He later owned land in the North Fork, Swannanoa River area. The Truitts were members of the Brush Creek Baptist Church. It is said that Levi took care of the Rev. Humphrey Posey's horse while the reverend preached. ¹⁶¹¹
