One day after Earl left for World War II, Grandma Truitt asked an Ouija board if her sons (she had two in service at the time) would be coming home safely when the war was over. The board told her No! So, Grandma ordered the board out of her house and she said that no one was ever to talk about or use one again. Ronald Vernon hated them.
Earl died of injuries he suffered in the war. He was at home when he died.
