General Notes: Guy of Thouars was Duke of Brittany between 1203 and 1206, succeeding his stepson Arthur I. He was the second husband of duchess Constance and styled himself Duke of Brittany and Count of Richmond in right of his wife. Life Events: 1. Acceded: Duke of Brittany, 1203-1206. 1688 Guy married Constance Duchess of Brittany, Countess of Richmond, daughter of Conan IV "la Petit" Duke of Brittany and Margaret of Huntingdon Countess of Hereford, Duchess of Brittany, in 1199.1688 (Constance Duchess of Brittany, Countess of Richmond was born about 1161 1688 and died on 5 Sep 1201 in Nantes, Brittany 1688.). The cause of her death was Died in Childbirth or of Smallpox. |
