OBITUARY 1

ALWINE -- Mrs. Katie (Johns), 74, Carpenter Park, died at 9:55 p.m. Feb. 2, 1952, in home. Born Feb. 24, 1877, in Conemaugh Township, Somerset County, daughter of Sem K. and Lucinda (Weaver) Johns. Preceded in death by husband, Simon J. Survived by foster-daughter, Mrs. Katie E. Alwine, at home, and following brothers and sisters: J. W. Johns, Davidsville; Mrs. Lydia Cable, Boswell R.D. 1; Mrs. Lizzie Thomas, Hollsopple R.D. 2, and Mrs. Ella Wingard, Boswell R.D. 1. Preceded in death by sister, Mrs. Fannie Saylor. Also survived by four foster-grandchildren and one foster-great-grandchild. Was great-great-granddaughter of Joseph Johns. Member of Kaufman Mennonite Church, where service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. Harry Y. Shetler and Rev. Irvin M. Holsopple. Interment, Stahl's Mennonite Cemetery. Friends received in family residence. Arrangements by John Henderson Company.

OBITUARY 2
Alwine, -- Katie, daughter of Shem K. and Lucinda (Weaver) Johns, was born in Conemaugh Twp., Somerset Co., Pa., Feb. 24, 1877; died at her home Feb. 2, 1952; aged 74 y. 11 m. 8 d. She was preceded in death by her husband, Simon J. Alwine, almost ten years ago. She is survived by a foster daughter (Mrs. Walter Alwine), one brother (J. W. Johns, Davidsville, Pa.), 3 sisters (Mrs. Lydia Cable and Mrs. Ella Wingard, Boswell, Pa., and Mrs. Lizzie Thomas, Hollsopple, Pa.), 4 foster grandchildren, and one foster great-grandchild. She was a faithful member of the Mennonite Church for many years. Funeral services were held Feb. 5 at the Kaufman Mennonite Church in charge of Harry Y. Shetler and Irwin Holsopple. Interment was made in the Stahl Cemetery.
