William Montgomery James 1864
General Notes: "He could not read or write. He met his third wife at church while visiting near her home. She said he told her later that when he saw her he said to himself, there goes my wife. She seemed to find that embarrassing as she always said if she had know he was thinking such things, she wouldn't have had anything to do with him. [I never could understand why.] Anyway they met and he went back home to Waurika, OK and he courted her by mail. She said they never kissed until after they were married. Since he could not read and write he had a friend named Robert Atterberry help him." 1764 William married Ida M. Runnells on 3 Sep 1885 in Texas, USA.1864 (Ida M. Runnells was born on 6 Nov 1862 1864.) William next married Lula Eva Cook on 23 Dec 1905 in Texas, USA.1864 (Lula Eva Cook was born on 4 Jul 1889 in Laclede, Linn, Missouri, USA 1864 and died on 28 Jun 1909 in Castle, Okfuskee, Oklahoma, USA 1864.) William next married Helen Lucille Davis, daughter of Benjamin Franklin Jarnigan Davis and Margaret Lucinda Ray, on 12 Mar 1918 in Mangum, Greer, Oklahoma, USA.1864 (Helen Lucille Davis was born on 7 Oct 1890 in Salado, Bell, Texas, USA,1864 died on 6 Dec 1986 in Waurika, Jefferson, Oklahoma, USA 1864 and was buried in Waurika Cemetery (Waurika, Jefferson, Oklahoma, USA) 1764.) |
