OBITUARY
Helen Louise Truitt

Helen Louise Truitt was born on January 12, 1924 near Browning, Mo, to Sam and Edna (Sparks) Falconer and departed this life on Saturday October 13 ,2012 at her home after a lengthy struggle with Parkinson's disease.

She graduated from Browning High School and moved to Kansas City where she worked in the Pratt-Whitney aircraft plant during WW II. She married Arlo Truitt on Dec. 31, 1944 and they moved back to Linn County to begin farming and raise a family. To this union were born three daughters; twins, Lana Jane and Linda Jean and Jeanine. They continued to farm until ill health forced them to retire and move to Brookfield.

Helen spent 28 years driving a small school bus for the Linneus School District, and loved the students on her bus. She later earned an AA degree from Truman University and became a substitute teacher for the district. She was active in the Linneus Baptist Church holding several positions in the Church as a devoted member. After moving to Brookfield, she joined the Park Baptist Church where she was involved in several committees and her Sunday School Class until she was no longer able to attend. Members of that Sunday School Class continued to visit her every week. Helen enjoyed a full life of caring for her family, church activities, the stock market and dealing in antique quilts.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday October 16, 2012 at Park Baptist Church, Brookfield, with Pastor David Blakely officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 pm to time of the service Tuesday at the church, with burial in Purdin Cemetery; Purdin, MO. Memorials have been suggested to the Parkinson's disease Foundation and can be sent to or left at Rhodes Funeral Home, 216 Linn Street, Brookfield, MO, 64628.
