OBITUARY
R. Loretta "Tootie" Middleton, 66, Independence, died Saturday, November 14, 1998, at her home. Mrs. Middleton was born December 1, 1931, in Hodge, Missouri, and lived in Richmond, Missouri, before moving to Independence in 1957. She was a homemaker, and a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Middleton. Her survivors include her husband, John D. "Red" Middleton of the home; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Debbie and Drew Gordon, Independence, and Pam and Kevin Gross, Sibley; her father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Ezekiel Belt, Richmond; two sisters, Dorothy Trout and Delories Bush, both of Rayville, Missouri; and four grandchildren, Shaun and Tiffany Gordon, and Matthew and Katie Gross. Services were today at the Thurman Funeral Home. Burial was in Sunny Slope Cemetery, Richmond. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
