OBITUARY
Died at 7 o'clock, on the evening of the 3rd, 1906, at her home near Glenwood, Ala. Mrs. Melinda Davis aged 62 years. Deceased was the daughter of Josiah & Amanda Jones & was born near Otho, Henry Co., Al., whence her parents moved to Barbour County during her early childhood & when she was about 10 years old the family moved again to what was Pike near Maricopa. She was married to Wright L. Davis, by J.J. Brunson, Oct. 10th, 1865. Deceased was the faithful wife, a loving mother, a kind neighbor & a devoted Christian. She joined the Mt. Zion Church in the summer of 1887, but her membership at the time of her death was at Bethel a few miles from Glenwood. She was the mother of 5 sons & 2 daughters. & 4 are married. Mrs. Davis took Typhoid fever Aug. 10th, 1904 & was never right well a single day afterwards.
