OBITUARY

Vernon Levi Clements, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Clements, was born February 15, 1899, and passed away at his home, 623 Corsby street, November 23,1929. He entered service in the World war May 5, 1918, and saw active service over seas for twelve months. On June 17, 1923, he was united in marriage with Miss Blanche Hooker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Hooker of Browning. To them was born one daughter, who passed away March 14, 1929. Those left to mourn his untimely passing are his wife, father and mother; three brothers, Raymond, Murl A. and Vincent E., all of Brookfield, and one sister, Mrs. E. H. Crystal of Marceleine, besides many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. H. Law at the Methodist Episcopal church. Miss Loraine Glaze of Browning sang "A Perfect Day," and Miss Grace Edgmon and Clarence Canover sang, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Abide With Me." Burial was made in Rose Hill cemetery.

Vernon married Blanche Hooker, daughter of Enoch M. Hooker and Ida Ann Gable, on 17 Jun 1923. (Blanche Hooker was born on 15 May 1895 in Browning, Linn, Missouri, USA,497,500 died on 12 Oct 1960 in Sumner, Chariton, Missouri, USA 497,501 and was buried on 16 Oct 1960 in Jenkins Cemetery (Browning, Linn, Missouri, USA) 486,497.)
