OBITUARY - Mrs. O. T. Johnson Passed Away October 12
Blanche Johnson, daughter of Enoch and Ida Gable Hooker, was born May 15, 1895, on a farm west of Browning, Mo., and departed this life on October 12, 1960 at their Hunting Lodge near Sumner, Mo.
Blanche united at an early age with the Locust Valley Baptist Church and was later affiliated with the Baptist Church at Kirksville, and more recently with the Methodist Church at Browning.
She attended school at Browning and the Missouri State Teachers College at Kirksville, after which she operated at millinery shop at Browning and at approximately this time she helped to organize and become a Charter member of the Cinderella Club. Her long association with this group of friends was a joy in her life.
In 1931, she united in marriage with Otto Johnson and worked closely with him for thirty years in their business in Browning.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, Otto, of the home, one step daughter, Miss Doris Lee Johnson, of Long Beach, Calif. Seven sisters: Mrs. Alice Bennett and Miss Pauline Hooker of Browning, Mo.; Mrs. Ivah Summey, Mrs. Olive McCalmont and Miss Violette Hooker of Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Grace Morelock of Milan, and Mrs Florence Wheeler of Lineville, Ia. A number of beloved nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 16, 1960, at 2:30 p.m. in the Wade Funeral Home, and were conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Kelley of Marceline.
The song services were by Mrs. J. W. Grice and Mrs. Gerald Wade, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Joe Nevins.
Flower girls were: Sherry Adams, Cosette Hawkins, Donna Kaye Crooks and Judy Dixon.
Casket bearers were: Orlando Johnson, Harold Adams, H. W. Hamilton, L. L. Ingraham, Byron Whaley and Bill Ramsey.
Interment was made in the Jenkins cemetery.

Blanche (Hooker) Johnson spent her entire life in Browning, operating a Millinery Shop, and later being affiliated with the Johnson Chevrolet Co. She married Otto Johnson.
Blanche attended the First District Normal School (later named Northeast Missouri State Teacher's College and later Truman University) in Kirksville, Missouri during the summer session of 1915.
Blanche had one child who died at birth. 497
