I have always been told that our family is related to the signer of the Declaration of Independence. George Ross. There is a mystery on who Elizabeth Ross not the flag lady, she married George's nephew John. The Elizabeth Ross I know was born on May 3, 1813 in Mercer County, PA. She died on May 10, 1861 in Richie County, WV. She is supposedly a great niece or a great grandaughter.

Isaac Miller (1800-1865)was my 3rd gr grandfather. He was with Capt. Payne's Company fighting the Creeks from "at least 1829 to 1832" Can anyone further describe Capt Payne's Company and those battles, for me?

Tracing family history from Augustine Jean (left Isle of Jersey 1675 for Reading, Mass.,), he's tied to De Carteret family on Jersey by marriage. Trace DeCarterets to A.D. 960, then thru a Margaret Harleston (md. Philippe de Carteret) to King John and Eleanor of Aquitaine and King Henry II, now tracing back to Henry's ancestors in 400s, including Domangart mac Fergusa, king of Del Riata....
