OBITUARY

Mrs. Martha Key Dies in St. Joseph

Mrs. Martha Ann Key, 67 of Waverly, died at 1:30 o'clock Sunday in St. Joseph. She had been ill for the past three years. Born April 6, 1898 in Camden County, she was the daughter of James Monroe and Millie Noland Belt. She lived in the Hodge neighborhood before going to Waverly over 30 years ago. June 30, 1915, she was united in marriage to Oliver Key. He survives at the home in Waverly. Also surviving are three sons, James E. Key of Kansas City, Charles A. Key of Grandview, Oliver Leroy Key of Waverly, two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Carter of Grandview, Mrs. Lola Holmes of Kansas City, four sisters, Mrs. Nettie Pettigrew and Mrs. Opal Erwin of Kansas City, Mrs. Grace Ray of Corder, Mrs. Dora Starr of Lexington, one brother, Ezekiel Belt of Richmond, three half brothers, Monroe Belt and John W. Belt of Kansas City, Bert Belt of Cape Kennedy, Fla., 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. One sister preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Waverly Baptist Church. The Rev. Wayne Nelson will conduct the services with interment in the Waverly cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Gibson Funeral Home in Waverly afternoon Monday.
